i've driven from WA to CA, from CA to TX, from TX to LA, from LA to GA, and from GA to NC! All in my rex. the car will handle it with no problems, the REAL question is how do YOU handle a 7hr road trip!! :P
do the common sense things first like oil change, belts, radiator etc... then have fun and enjoy! try not to speed too much!

Same here, 86 GXL... been all over the north east with it and never given me a problem except things like the exhaust working its way off the manifold. I recommend a small tool kit and a quart of all kinds of fluids. The 7 isn't the most comfortable 6+ hour drive, so I say take a couple 10 min breaks =)

No problem but I had the "essentials" in the car just in case.
*several quarts of oil
*gallon of coolant
*gallon of water
*spare set of all belts
*spare set upper and lower radiator hoses
*spare set of spark plugs
I was doing a couple of Sac to Vegas trips a few years ago, and the car drove beautifully during the whole time.
400 miles tanks of gas really kick ***!
