Drive both and decide.

If you pick drag racing, I would question why you bought your RX-7

Straightaways are for fast cars. Corners are for fast drivers

True that.

It would seem that there is more strategy and driver ability playing a role in autocross and road racing vs. drag racing. For example, good suspension and tires seem to make a bigger improvement than horsepower mods in autox.

Wow! Nice engine bay (assuming the belt was tightened eventually ) That CF shroud is cool. I am going to do something similar with fiberglass.

I'll take the twists anyday....at least I would if I could get my RX running again....but it's like someone else said...stoplight racing is nothing but drag...although I've owned everything that's tried to pull on me there too....and to think I run a stock Vert, lol

I think handling wins because RX-7's aren't drag cars by nature.
You can buy an RX-7 for almost nothing and still have a car that will outhandle 90% of the cars on the road.

this is amazing.....one day you are defending how the RX7 is such a great "sports" car cause it can handle the straight line as well as a curve

Then the next day you argue amongts yourselves about which one its made for....is it handling or is it speed

WHO CARES?!!!!!!!! Is it fun? Are you making it better? Do you like your RX7.....thats what matters

everything else is just BS

Drifting, drifting, drifting, drifting, drifting, drifting, driftin, drifting. I couldn't say anyting but that cause draging is for pussies cause they don't know how to control their cars. Oh and Initial D rules. The real skill is being able to control your car like you control your body, when this is accoplished come and race me, nut until.
thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard, anyone can cut a conor fast. it takes a level of skill you do not have to register 564 reaction times like me. i need a faster car to exploit my abilities, im getting a race car (550hp) sometime soon maby in the next 3 years, then well see whos got more skill, sry that race car is a v8 cant get that kinda power from an n/a rotary.

and the rx7 isnt made for straight line speed, this word is final, the fastest production model only mustered 14.9 in the 1/4th thats slow no matter how ya cut it. this is a conor car the polls show that.

Yah thats what i thought. The rotary engine doesnt have alot of low end torque and most drag cars are known for that stuff. But the Rotary engine is a great high rev engine and poweful in those ranges so doing drift and moutain races are ideal for it. Thats why there are so many in D1 competitions and such. If i wanted to drag race, i would just get a classic American Car. Cause nothing beats raw american power on the straightaway.

i frown on drifting, thies cars have the rear wheel steering for a reason, thats racing correctly not showing off. and if you see a muscle car on the highway, im sure i can guess who would win when we both geared down the rotary of course, the most wicked pull from 6000rpm ive ever seen.

The car does both well.

I like twisties by far, but i live in Detroit the roads are flat, and streight. racing is racing ya know? I'll take what I can get.

mephis what the hell are you talking about? I don't really care about dragracing, I am not good at it, nor do i really care to be...and i cut sub .600 reaction times. anyone with half a brain can get good reaction times. it's especially easy in an 18second automatic FC.

No, not anyone can "cut a corner fast" go to an autoX, and see how you compair to guys that have some experence. There is A LOT of factors that go into having a fast enter/exit speed.

I saw a bone stock FD run 13.55, in person. the car's owner is on the forum. That was a freak run, as he usually ran in the 13.70s-13.90's

So it's a corner car because the polls show it? I guess the back street boys are great musicians, the numbers say they are.

if your rx-7 has teh hardest 6k pull you have ever seen, you have been in some really week cars.

i'd have to go with twisty's. its just more fun to show how much people are tools to their car and how i use mine as a tool.
