Oil temp gauge

I am fitting an aftermarket oil temp gauge, just wondered where the best place to install the sender would be to keep an eye on temperature?

I have a M14 x 1.5 sender fitting.

Cheers

Half way down the page...the adapter goes between the oil filter stand and the oil filter ...emmm holder. I have that one and it works great.

They are tapped for 1/8" NPT. You will either need to drill out and retap, or find an adapter.

If you get the above mentioned adapter..... just be sure that that damn little resistor thing thats attached to that bolt on the tranny just behind the oil pedestal is out of the way and doesn't get smashed between the adapter and the block.... it leads to a very big mess and about an hour of cleaning after you realize that you got no oil pressure on either gauge (thank god i noticed it right away.. but it still puked out 2 quarts of oil!!!!)

Other than that... i LOOOOOVE my mazdatrix adapter... get the round one.. i got my oil temp and oil pressure gauges run out of it.. great little product.

OH CRAP.. he's in ENGLAND.....

Sorry man.....

Ummmm... the BEST way to do it without ordering the Mazdatrix adapter would be to take your stock oil feed to the oil cooler line to a hydraulics shop and get them to make you a NEW one the same size, with a port fitting in the middle where you could install the sender.

There is really no place on the motor itself that i would attempt to drill and tap for an oil temp sensor.....

I was at a local performance parts store and the guy was telling me that you can get an oil temperature gauge with a sender that replaces your oil pan drain plug. I think VDO makes it.
