if i have good internal parts side seals etc if i want to do a cheap rebuild and my motor just needs oil seals do i replace just the oil seals or what?? what other gaskets do i need for this procedure and what do youguys recomend for a fairly cheap diy oil seal replacement?

How much miles on the engine?
If we're talking all Mazda OEM stuff and you're looking at replacing the apex seals, it's still $500+ just in parts...

motor has 140,000 miles still good comp though so do i really need to replace the apex seals?

Mazda specs...

8.0mm height - brand new
7.5mm height - replace apex seal inner springs
7.0mm height - minimum spec, replace apex seal if below this spec

Go measure them and find out...
