Question Oil Return Line Question.

Alright, it was dark out last night, but we finally found the oil leak that we noticed yesterday. It's coming from the return lines up by the radiator.

Here is my question, it was dark and a little cool last night, so we didn't spend alot of time looking at it. Are the oil return lines rubber lines?? If they are, what size are they, and how long are they?? The guy at AutoZone told me he thought they were rubber, but he wanted me to check first. I just figured I'd ask here and if I can get an answer, I'll buy the lines from AutoZone on my way home from work, and install them tonight and save myself a trip!!

Thanks,
Jeff

It's an N/A.

As far as I can tell, they're the lines that transfer the oil to the oil cooler, up near the radiator.

Thanks,
Jeff

Ok, its the oi cooler lines. You *can* rig it with high pressure oil hose, but i HIGHLY recommend you either get the factory oil cooler lines or the racing bear SS lines. Its not an easy job to change, but very very important. One of those lines suddenly goes and all your oil will dump out in a hurry. Then instead of spending a couple hundred bucks, your looking at a couple thousand.

So, you think that high pressure oil hose will get me by for a few days at least?? I don't drive the car much, yesterday was the first I'd had it out in at least 2 months. Is there anything else that you think could be leaking?? We saw the leak coming from one of those hoses, but there seemed to be ALOT of oil down under the car.

Thanks,
Jeff

Heres the basic leak check diagnosis. Get a can of parts cleaner. Clean the hell out of the area with all the oil is its nice and clean. Go rip around and look to see where the oil is coming from.
