Oil puddles and smoke out exhaust
Here's the deal I am looking into buying an 87 N/A it is in ruff shape but I'm looking for a project car(non daily driver). Here's the deal when it runs it emmits a ton of grey/white smoke and after reving a decent sized puddle of oil is left on the ground below the exhaust tips. I know for a fact that the oil metering pump is not to blame it was just replaced. I tryed the rev to 6k then let off the throttle oil seals test and the smoke got better after I let off the throttle however when I pushed gas the smoke got worse. Also the smoke seemed to get slightly better as the engine warmed up but still significant after 5+ mins. I have yet to rule out that this is not coolant smoke however both oil and coolant were low and had to be topped up. Despite smoke motor seems very strong. One up side of the delayed start I was able to hear a distinct poping sound out the exhaust that leads me to believe that the motor still has decent compression. My question is this does this just sound like build up from sitting or is this something more sinister(oil/coolant seals)? Price is about 500.
