Oil pressure question, opposite of the normal question asked

Looking through the vast oil pressure related questions, it seems most have low or no pressure, then it rises as the revs and load rise.....sending unit being the culprit.

Here's my situation. at idle its about 60 in the TII. as the revs rise and just coasting, the pressure is about 100 to 110 and oil viscosity doesn't seem to affect it. I was using 20/50 in the in GA since I bought it late spring/ early summer, noticed it being higher than I'm used to in my 91 and 93. Changed the oil to 10/30 and no change. Think its the sending unit, blocked passage making the pressure to build up, etc? Ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

Are you using a stock oil pressure gauge. If you are concerned you should get something aftermarket. Or get a mechanical tester.

If those are true numbers. It is on the high side.

that is according to the stock gauge, so I'll try to take the time and test it when it warms up a little more. It's my toy car, along with my 93, with the 91 being the daily driver. It was just a little disconcerting seeing it that high as I was waiting to see it bust a line or something and leave me stranded.

Thanks,
Tim
