i have a 1991 rx7 gxl and the oil pressure gauge fluctuates while i drive. when driving in 5ht gear it almost goes down to 0 psi. is this normal?

 

It is normal for the oil gauge to go up and down when you go from lower to higher RPM's however it is not normal for if to go down to 0. have you checked the oil in the car? when was the last time you checked it? remember that the rotary engines consume oil.

 

I would check the connector for cleanliness/security first before I had a cow about a bad engine. Its right below the oil filter and it connects to a silver can looking thing.

 

hey if that dont prove to be the problem might try the o ring under the front cover: mine did the same **** . the po used the plastic washer and oil was just goin back into the pan instead of the passage
