oil pressure problem
i just got my 88 vert running tonight,it has a fresh rebuild 13b.when i first start it the reading on the oil pressure gauge is around 30 psi after i took it around the block the reading was just above 0 .i left it running for about 10 minutes stopped it and let it cool .when i restarted it did the same thing again . does anyone know a good way to check the pressure ?or is my gauge bad ?

the oil pressure sending unit is located just behind (towards firewall) the oil dipstick and a wire connector is on it, check it out. no oil pressure is very bad, did you check the oil? it might just be gulping it down if you see a lot of smoke behind you. good luck

ive had every possible oil pressure prob with my fc..
1- check the sender try a mechanical guage if possible
2- if one prooves to really be low pressure it could be the front cover o ring.
3- it could also be the oil pickup tube gasket and last the oil pump could be toghoter wrong...
i hope this helps if u need more help shoot me a pm
