Oil pressure high when engine is cold, normal once warm?

Yes, I have searched. I am just wondering if it is normal for oil pressure to be high when the engine is cold and normal once it is warm? I just recently installed my rebuild and my oil pressure is around 80 on the stock gauge at idle when the engine is cold. However, once the engine is warm everything is exactly normal - 30 at idle 65-75 at 3K. So is this normal? Thermal pellet modification is installed by the way (if that matters). thanks

Yes, as the oil warms up & gets thinner, pressures will go down.

The stock gauge is a piece of junk..... your observations, ,however, seem pretty normal, especially if you are running 20-50 like me!!!

Well, now that it is getting cold in PA, I'm running 10W-40, but in the summer I'm all about the 20W-50. Thanks for the responses
