The stock gauge with a new sending unit is just as good as an aftermarket unit, IMO.
I have both installed and they read the same- the stocker is more heavily dampened so it doesn't jump around as quickly.

The water temp gauges (at least the S5 versions) are little more than idiot lights but the oil pressure seems fine to me and you can't beat the stock location for ease of monitoring.
