Oil Pressure?

How high should the oil pressure on a mostly stock 87 TII be at. The highest I've ever seen it is about 40 by my guess according to the stock gauge and I've noticed it's usually lower than that.

Heres a thing thats posted on Mazdatix's website: http://mazdatrix.com/faq/oring.htm
I think that my engine had that problem, I'll fine out for sure once I open it up in the next week.
Thats not your problem for sure, though. Maybe a bad sender, or something. Some other people might know and post in a little bit.

My GXL runs 30 at idle and 60 when driving, but these oil pressure gauges are notorious for being inaccurate. I’m not sure about turbo’d models but 40 seems rather low. Get another known good gauge and see what its really running at.

It is at 0 or slightly over at idle and slightly over 30 driving, I'll just get an oil pressure gauge when I get a boost gauge and see what it's at.
