oil press. sending unit leaks after being replaced three times

oil press. sending unit leaks after being replaced three times

i have a series 5 GTU and like the title says i began to have a oil leak from the oil pressure sending unit and replaced it not once but three times and i still get leaks and i am pretty sure that its coming from the unit. has anybody encountered this problem before? any help is appreciated

Make sure you are using a thread sealant or teflon tape on the threads and never tighten the sending unit by it's "bell". Always use a wrench on the hex portion behind the bell when tightening.

okay i got the hex portion right, so teflon yes teflon............must buy teflon tomorrow will tell you how it goes thanks!

Don't use Teflon tape. Only Teflon sealing compound or pipe dope. The threads are too fine for tape.

And DO NOT overtighten, because you can crack the rear iron.
