Uh, sorry fred but if you look real close you'll notice that a pax side motor mount bolts right through the oil pan. I'll guess you'll have to f**** with it.

Use an offset wrench to remove the front bolts. It is a pain but not impossible. Also, try not to damage the oil pan when breaking the seal on it.

It is not a hard job, just a little time consuming to loosen and tighten those pesky bolts.

The stuff inthe tube isn't too bad as long as it's the right stuff and the mating surfaces are flush. (which they should anyways)

DO NOT USE AN OIL PAN GASKET, IT WILL LEAK!!! Use only rtv or another sealant and you shall be leak free.

See the problem is that the motor mount on the FC (and FD) is through the oil pan... so you can use an oil pan gasket, and eventually it will leak (sooner the more HP and Torque your motor makes)

Or you can use RTV and sooner or later it will also leak (sooner the more HP and Torque your motor makes).

So until someone comes out with a cast oil pan and O ring for the FC, you should use which ever one makes you feel more comfortable.

Don't mess with regular RTV sealant.

I have repeatedly used rightstuff by Permatex with 100% success. No need to allow the RTV to cure before applying full torque. This is the stuff that NASCAR uses. No wait, no fuss, just 100% effectiveness.

There is nothing bad about the OEM gasket- they typically last 100K miles.

It should be considered more a personal preferance...

do you like glue, or do you like a gasket...

Your choice

Be careful re-tightening the oil pan bolts, they have a habit of breaking.
