I did mine during my rebuild using Honda Bond with no gasket. It's kind of expensive (~$16-20) and cures relatively quick, so you have to work kind of quickly. Get it at honda dealer - Amazon has it for $15. So far no leaks (going on 2nd year).

hylomar is a gasket dressing and not a gasket material.

get a good clean pan and a tube of either permatex ultra black, ultra grey or "the right stuff". clean the engine deck surface of all oil, clean the oil pan surface and repaint it, then apply a 5mm bead of silicone and torque the pan to the block. you should let it set up for a few hours before adding oil.

i no longer use a gasket, they cause more trouble than they are worth. and if you're having these issues on an FC block you are definitely doing something wrong, i have not once had a pan leak on an FC engine which tells a lot about how easy they can be sealed up. FDs on the other hand...

i suspect your issue was overtorquing with the gasket and then using hylomar, hylomar being wrong for this application.

won't do anything for an FC or FB. if you're having leaks on anything but an FD it is just being improperly done.

because the engine mounts bolt through the pan at the sealing seam. the FC mount does also but not in a way that promotes the flange to warp.
