Oil Metering Pump

Yeah my car hasn't really lost more than a quart of oil between each oil change. I read that it should lose a quart every 1500 miles and I've let it go for over 3000 and haven't really burned a substantial amout. And for the amount that I leak it's possible that I am not burning any.

Is this something that I should look into or just wait until it starts causing problems. The 87 N/A runs like a scared rabbit so it doesn't seem to be doing any damage. I've run the car for about 10,000 miles so far in it's current condition.

As far as I know, you wouldn't feel any difference in power, since the oil injection is only there to lubricate the seals, to promote longevity.

I was worried about my GXL, since it didn't seem to be going through oil as quickly as it should have. I decided to use premix, but only a small amount of it, probably 1:300 ratio. Strangely enough, I have noticed the amont on the stick seems to be less now too. I don't have any leaks. But then again I have been checking it more regularly also.

Remember to check the level when the engine is COLD.

Just to reassure you, I purchased an '89 TII new, now 156,000 miles...Changed oil every 3,000 miles and have never needed to add any oil. In fact, in that time frame, loss is only minimal.
