Oil in lower intake manifold....but not upper?

I took off my upper intake manifold to hunt down a fuel leak (That I can't seem to find). Well, I took off the manifold I noticed something weird.

In the intake runners there is oil. It of course appears to engine oil. Enough to for the paper gasket to show signs of being in contact with the stuff. It is NOT in the upper manifold. I run my fingers in the runners in the upper manifold and they are clean. I look in the hoses that come from the turbo and they are clean.

So I do not believe it is a turbo leak (It is 400 miles since rebuild).

Is it possible that my car is having problems with that thing that controls the car reburning its crankcase emmisions? Is this oil blow by?

The secondary port on the lower intake manifold has the worse oil in it. Just trying to find out what is going on.

Also, when you jump the yellow two pin is the fuel pump supposed to run constantly? Or turn off when the pressure is built up? Mine runs as long as it is jumped.

Thanks

James

depending on the amount of oil this is normal...u might actually have less oil after u put a few more miles on teh engine...are u breaking it in properly?

Sounds NORMAL to me. You see, the OMP (Oil Metering Pump) injects engine oil into the lower IM as well as directily into the engine housings. This is to keep the Apex seals lubricated.

It could also be that one of the vaccum hoses on the OMP spyder is pulling oil through it and into the IM. BUt I'm not 100% sure of how that whole vac/boost oil spider works....

Hope this helps

I hear you on the oil injection. But the oil is at the top of the lower intake manifold. Right at the gasket. The oil injection is at the bottom of the lower intake manifold. Injecting into the primary ports and then two injectors in the rotor housings. I thought this was a one way trip for the oil.

I am doing this breakin
-Changed oil at 110 miles
-Below 4000 rpm for 1000 miles
-Boost starts at 1000 miles working to full boost at 1500 miles. Also slowly working towards redline at 1500 miles.
-Will change oil and coolant at 500 miles

I am at 430 miles now.

It's not oil, it's crud from intake reversion.&nbsp Fuel gets blown back up the intake track due to the intake design...
