oil level light
oil level light
i checked the archives about this problem and i really couldnt find any definite answer.
heres the background: its an 88gxl, with 16k on a streetport, the omp is disconnected so i can run premix. lately i havent been putting any premix in so i can pass emissions, and i just changed the oil and filter with ams oil 5 days ago.
today my oil level light and buzzer go off, but only when i turn right.
could the problem be that i am not running premix currently, or did i really burn 2 quarts of oil in 5 days. i dont see a puddle of oil underneath my car ever, last i checked the level was fine, and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust.
thanks,
chris

Uh, don't stop using pre-mix - you're going to possibly hurt the motor just because you need to pass emissions??? The pre-mix doesn't affect emissions significantly if it's TC-W3 certified.

It could be the oil level sensor and/or its wiring too. It's a wire coming out of the oil pan. Unplug it and see if the contacts are dirty and clean as necessary. If I remember correctly you can remove the sensor from the oil pan to check/clean it too. You'll have to drain the oil first though.
Good luck,
