around my place there is a junkyard that has a automatic s4 gxl, looked like it came straight from the dealer, low miles, had original paint and the motor was freakin clean as hell, no dirt or grime and that intake manifold was shining like hell, it was still silver bling bling lol, i couldnt beleive it, the good thing is not many rx7 owners go there, im like one of the few that go, and its all mine ! MUAHAHAHAHH lol, anything that breaks on my car i can get from there. yay! =)

it's the o ring for the oil filter and it's pretty common...mine pissed out oil a few years back. I cut a new gasket myself and used a bunch of that gasket goop - problem solved.

yeah there are 2 o rings on the filler neck . there should be 2 10mm bolts holding it on. you take those off and off comes the part where you screw on the oil filter and just replace them. mine were a bitch to get off with the engine in. not sure if it might be hard for you with a NA but i image it will be very tediouse

My nuts came off pretty easy (hah hah)

like 1sxyRxy said, getting the wrench in there was a beotch. I was replacing the bypass cooling hose at the time, and having that out of the way helped. Still waiting for the o rings from mazdatrix to fix mine.

My advice: when all else fails, beat with a rubber mallet.

It can leak a lot.

I just replaced my o-rings with some gasket goop. It had been leaking since I bought the car in Feb. I don't know how long it was leaking for, but mostly everything beneath the filter was covered in oil. The bottom plastic guard was pooling most of the oil, but you can easily notice oil spots on the ground after it sat for a day. I would say it leaked about 3/4 - 1 quart of oil a month along with daily driving during the time I had the problem.

Got mine from advance auto parts

I took out the old one and got the match from Advance Auto Parts. They have o-rings of all sizes behind the desk.
