OMP usually leaks like a bitch from either the OMP itself or from the brittle lines being old.

from the oil filter pedestal from oil changes

from a cracked oil cooler or from a seeping oil cooler line on its way to bursting out.

Since i have been battling the oil leak for sometime now i'll share my story. 1st leak was huge, oil cooler lines busted... after i did the SS swap oil leak stopped for a couple of days. 2nd leak was the Oil Pedestal, took it apart cleaned everything HYLOMAR is my new friend. Now i got a new leak. Check your OMP lines, check your turbo lines. I personally feel that my turbo is leaking oil... good luck just pull your motor apart, and i'm sure you'll find the leak.

Whenever you check out the OMP buy a new 5$ rubber o-ring for it. Seal that bitch up with gasket sealent as well (thermal of course) and it shouldn't leak at all after that.

Use your hands, check around. Feel all around the turbo and oil lines, below it, etc. hand wet with oil? problem identified.

the oil pedestal is the thing that you screw your OIL FILTER on. The metal pedestal has two 10mm nuts under the pedestal. make sure that you have both O rings when your take it apart and clean it very well.

If its on your tranny/back of engine, there is a good chance it could be your rear main seal.
It's not that _hard_ to change.. just a bit of a pain in the **** and takes a while.

But first things first degrease and clean your entire engine bay so it's spotless.
Then take it for a 5min drive and see where the oil is comming from. Best way to find leaks, ever.

Take a photo of it.

Could be either the tube/hose that comes off the filler tube right near the housing.
Or there COULD be a leak from the dowel pin leaking upward ... not that likely but COULD happen.

Edit: LEFT housing. Ok most propably where the turbo oil feed banjo bolt is on the front sideplate. IMHO.

Looks like the gasket under the oil filter housing is bad...very common. It's a cheap part and easy to replace.

Looks to me like the hose on the filler tube, maybe a clogged hose, or even overfilled oil (assume that oil was overfilled)? It should be something from near the front and top of the engine because oil leaks downward and gets blown backward by the fan. It can be the OMP lines at the injector end as well, since the puddle forms at the top behind the alternator, but I don't think those lines can spit that much oil considering how much oil the oil injection system uses even when it's in bad conditions.

(On a side note, my oil pan had a small dent on the flange and leaks even after TWO times that I did my gasket.)

You must clean all oil from the engine and place cardboard or similar item around andy possible source of oil leaks. Then watch for oil leaking while the engine is running. Use a light to help locate it. The pros use a tracer in the oil and a black light to find em. Can be very difficult.

Take a look at the FSM at the exploded view of the engine. There are dowel pins that align the engine slices. These dowels are hollow and oil is piped through them, under pressure to bring oil from the front to the back of the engine. These dowel pins are sealed using O-rings that are installed into recesses in the rotor housing. There are 4 o-rings altogether.
The places you indicated in your photos is in the vicinity of these o-rings. Unfortunately if this is your problem you need to take the engine apart to get at them.
Do everything you can to confirm that this is not your problem. Replace the o-rings in the oil filter pedestel. Ensure all hoses in the area are properly attached. Wipe down the affected area and look for signs of leakage. Etc.
If this is the problem, how bad is it leaking? Can you live with it?

If this is your problem you may want to check your compression before you open it up. The compression information may help you decide if, while you're in there, you want to change out some of the hard seals as well.

Good luck

check your hoses, the larger diameter hoses in that area, those are crankcase ventilation hoses and they like to crack and leak, check the base of the oil filler tube to see if there is any oil coming from where it mates to the block and be sure your oil dipstick fits snug in the tube, oil can leak out of the seal or around the tube base.

lastly, at that corner of the block is a main oiling passage that runs the length of the motor from the oil filter housing to the front cover, if one of the o-rings that seals this area has lost it's seal it can leak externally in this area, the only thing you can do to try and remedy this is to clean the corner where the leak is at between the aluminum housing and the iron housing and paste some silicone over it broadly and allow it to fully cure, this is a temporary fix and may not fully keep oil in but it is better than nothing or a pricey overhaul.
