S4 or S5? S4 is mechanical, there's a pushrod tied to the throttle. The "wide open throttle" position flows more than "idle".

S5 is electrical, it's controlled by the ECU.

What are you looking to do?

Try going here http://wombat.sevarg.net/RX7/RX-7_Training_Manuals/ and I think in the LUBRICATION section there are WORDS about it there.

The OMP is a metering pump. It actually does pump oil. It receives oil from a oil feed passage in the front cover. Then it meters different amounts of oil to the oil injector oil feed lines. The amount depends on how far the omp lever is pulled upwards by the connecting rod b/t it and the throttle body.

The oil passes thru the oil injectors on the intake stroke of the engine and gets atomized by the air feed nipple on the top of the oil injector.

Anyway, just download the LUBRICATION section of that site. It's only about five pages or so and gives a written description with schematics of the oil injector etc.

And by the way, the oil metering pump does not use pressure from the oil passage in the front cover to move the oil thru the lines. You can feed the pump from a reservoir below the engine, say sitting on the ground below the car, and the omp will suck it up and put it in the oil injectors. Just some FYI you will have no use for. Just FYI.

On the fifth page of this thread https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...light=OIL+PUMP I posted some pictures of all the parts inside a omp, series four omp that is.

And don't forget this thread if your going to need new lines https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...8&page=1&pp=15
