The oil I am now using

Ok I read that oil fact sheet or What ever it was called. Well long story short I completly ignored it. I was at work right before I quit and we had some ON ROAD DISEL OIL. It has more detergant than regular oil and cleans better. I went thorugh and drove the car the whole 3000 miles before I changed it. Pulled the plug and started draining. low and behold what do I find the best looking used oil in the world. Usually when I change my oil it is completly black. This time aroung it was like a little dark but still clean.

There is one thing about using this oil. I was told to use the ON ROAD ONLY. DO NOT USE OFF ROAD OIL. It has more detergent that will not let the oil stay on the surafces and it will be wiped away not protecting the engine.

So in short I can say this is the only type of oil I am going to use from now on. I cannot however recommend it to people on here because if something happens to someones engine after they use this, then they say it is my fault for telling them to use this. Just saying I tried it and it worked for me.

wow, thats very interesting. I might try that, but i'd feel safer if i knew what it does to the engine in the long run, compared to lets say castrol gtx that most people are using, including myself.

Your logic is flawed.
If the oil has more "detergents", wouldn't the oil be a lot more black / dirty cause it's cleaning everything internally better?

Well My dad being a truck driver uses the same stuff and we put it in all of the motors that we rebuild at the shope and if one comes in for an oil change on a regular schedual like the recomended 5k miles then the oil usually looks very clean. But then there are companies that want to save money in the long run that have there oil checked at different intervals and some dont change there oil for sometimes up to 15k miles.

Now that the motors that we take apart using this oil the internals are fairly clean.

This is another reason why I said dont try it at home. I planm on rebuilding/swapping this motor shortly so I really dont care what happens to it at the moment.

I am not disagreeing with you all I may have to go back over that oil thread again.
