Oil cooler question and cut-out

Hey everyone i have an S5 and a question about the oil cooler lines. Are there two washers for each line bolt? Also my car has been cutting out lately. I have put new spark plugs in and put some fuel system cleaner in but it still cuts out. Do you think i need a new O2 sensor? Maybe a new fuel filter? Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It cuts out pretty frequently, mainly above 3000 RPM. On the highway i cant keep a constant RPM without it cutting out every 20 seconds or so. Also full throttle through all the RPMs in 3rd 4th and 5th gear is impossible. Its just a small cut out. The RPMs go up smoothly till about 3k and it cuts out almost like its getting no spark, it basically freezes then kicks on again, almost like a stall. Then it will cut out a few more times before 8k depending on what gear i am in. Maybe i should check compression? I hope this helps. Thanks.

doenst sound like a compression issue,( that would effect all RPM)

is this a turbo rx-7? if so you might be hitting "fuel cut" from too much boost

Check the plug wires.

Can you rev in neutral from 1k-7k? How about in first and second?

Let's hear some more details, brehh.

Neutral from 1k to 7k is fine. In first it will hesitate sometimes at about 5k but only once before shifting. In second it will hesitate 2-3 times on the way to 7k.

i would do a full tune up to the ignition if it hasn't been done recently and clean all ground points including the battery terminals and also the positive battery post.

did you just recently install your super afc? if so, I would bet that it's not set up right. I had a NA s4 and had a super afc installed in that and before I drove i called apex and asked how I should set it up. but then when I got my turbo s5 I just switched it over and left all the setting the same and the car did the same thing you are descrbing. I then called apex back and asked if I needed to set it up differently and I did. the car runs fine now. if you can I would just reconnect the stock afm wires back together by the ecu and see how she runs. if not, then give apex a call

nah i installed it about 3 months back and the car has only recently started to hesitate. also the weather changed, it got cold very suddenly around here, if that has an effect on the car.

mikey if you need washers for the oil cooler, give me a call 206-0764
and I agree with Karack.. check the ignition.. my white rx was doin that around 3 grand until i put new coils in it. If you want test coils, come over and you can use the ones out of my blue one.
EDIT::
Also could be secondaires not coming on.. that would make sense with a safc.

okay and also make sure you get washers that crimp because if they don't bend they won't seal. Been there, done that, and my black rx7 is still in the driveway lol
