Angry Oil Cooler Line BUSTED

Well after I got to work today I looked back at my car as I walked in like usual. But today I noticed a puddle of oil under it. WTF. I walk over. There is oil all on top of the engine bay tray and the lines are soaking with oil. It must have just happened because I still got oil in the pan thank god. I thought that it was the 87-88 lines that were bad. Mine is a 91. Can you guys tell me where to get a new line. OEM SUCKS! Or if you made one where you went to get it done. This needs to be fixed soon. It is my daily driver. Thanks.

A hose shop that makes hoses for hydrailic equipment, etc. could probably make them for you, but it would probably cost almost as much as the hoses RB and Mazdatrix sell. If you can get the hose and fittings and make them yourself it shouldn't be as expensive.

I paid $50cnd (30US) to get 2 made for mine. $30 in braided hose from local proformance shop and $20 labour at local hose/hydrolic shop. that was a few months ago and they are holding up fine.

I need to get some better pics. but here's the idea.

For what it is worth,I would suggest you don't drive your car until you have changed the line.I had one hose split (where it had rubbed on rad bracket). It deposited the contents of the oil pan under my car in about 20 seconds while travelling at about 40mph.The car went into an uncontrollable skid, but fortunately I did not contact any immoveable objects and I saved the motor(no skill here just good luck).

Ya I think that I am going to have it towed from work to the house. I rolled the car forward and the puddle under the car just form parking it is about 3 feet wide. Looks like about 1/4 to 1/2 quart on the ground right now. Thanks for the ideas. What type of hose and or size do I need to get. $50 sounds alot better than $150. Also it would probably take the same amount of time to get considering shipping being involved. Thanks.

the info was posted on the link I put up. AN 10 steel braided rubber hose (not nylon!!) I used about 2.5' or so. it's by the foot so just buy 3'

make sure you have a place near you that can do it before you go cutting yours up, but I guess it doesn't matter for the broken one...

If you do end up buying new hoses, go with the stainless ones from www.mazdatrix.com with the stock fittings. They are excellent quality, look better, and bolt in like stock.

I had the same problem some months ago. I got the Mazdatrix after many problem with CorkSport (their supplier was jerking them around at the time). Without the A/C in it was a pain to do. I can only imagine how hard it would be with A/C in.
