Smile oil control rings

Hi everybody

I'm going to rebuild my 86 NA because of low compression and it was starting to smoke. Should I plan on replacing the oil rings? I have the viton inserts.

Definitely!! The last few engines I've pulled apart, the oil control o-rings inside literally broke apart in my hands they were soo hardened!! Oh yeah, I also suggest buying 2 tubes of HYLOMAR while rebuilding. If you're looking for a way to save money on you're rebuild, I have a full writeup list of parts from separate companies............only the best stuff, and it saved me $$$.

Put new o'rings in and make sure you orientate the springs in the correct direction on the front and back of the rotor. The spring being the one under the oil control ring *holder*.

defintely yes absolutely.

unless you want your car to smoke..

it is also near impossible to thoroughly clean the parts without removing the o-rings.
