Oil consumption math.
I was reading up on methods for checking the OMP. Haynes say's to pull two lines off the pump, hook up test hoses in their place and run these into a measuring cup. Run the engine at 2k rpm for 5 minutes you should get 4.5 to 5.5 cc's of oil. I'm guessing that the other two hoses are putting out the same amount. So apparently we're looking at 2 cc's per minute (10 cc/5 min), or 120 cc's per hour. There are 946 cc's in a quart, so 8 hours at 2k rpm will burn a quart. I felt a little better about my oil consumption after I read that. If my figures are sh*t let me know, I'm sure there are variables, but at that rate you probably would only get 500 miles or so on a quart. I'm new to RX7's, just bought an 88 vert. It runs great, but uses a quart of oil every 5-7 hundred miles, with no smoke (except on starting) Happy Motoring!

Hmm..I don't remember using that much oil when I had the OMP on mine (years ago). Maybe a quart every 1000 miles, if that. Then again, maybe the OMP was crap, lol...
As long as you're not smoking, you're good to go
