Oil coming out of one of my Sparkplugs

Hello, yesterday i was looking for an oil leak and i saw oil coming out of one of my sparkplug holes, the rear bottom one, also im not sure about this one but i think theres oil coming out of the rear of my engine, between the transmission and the engine. Now the thing is it might be dripping from somewhere else and reaching the transmission. Im not sure, any advise? help or write up please? I bleieve my oil seals may be going altough the car runs fine.

Oil is not comming out of your spark plug holes. There is probably some drips there from another leak.

In that area more than likey the oil came from the oil filter pedestal. It could just be drips from the last time the filter was changed or the 2 little o-rings under the pedestal are leaking.

This could be the source of the oil on the back bottom of your engine too. Clean everything up and check it again in a week or so to see if there are more signs of oil and then look for the source.

Yea i replaced my oil filter like a week ago and that thing was mad tight to get out, and putting mine back in was a pain in the *** because tightening it with your hands wasnt enough and it leaked. I think this could be the problem but i dont see how i can tighten that filter even more. And how do you check and replace the o rings? Are they underneath the oilfilter?

"It's an RX-7, it would leak oil out of the tires if it wanted to." I forget who said that, but I was thinking it this weekend at VIR as I was indeed leaking oil out of my front spark plug holes. Not exactly oil, but oily disgusting gunk. The plugs weren't as tight as they needed to be. I replaced them with new ones, thinking the seals were probably compromised by stuff leaking past them, and when I tightened them I met some resistance too early. Stiff resistance, enough that whoever tightened them last (which might be me, I don't remember) easily could have thought they were tight enough, even though they visibly were not all the way in. An inspection with a mirror showed the threads to be ok, but there was **** on them. A little brake cleaner and good as new, the plugs went right in and haven't given me any more trouble with about an hour of high-load track time.

About the filter. Take it to Pep Boys and find the oil filter wrench that's the right size for your filter. It's basically an oversized socket wrench that fits on the end of the filter. Way easier than doing it by hand, especially on a Turbo II with the IC in the way.
