oil block off plates?
i jus purchased my second rx7 2 days ago and the previous owner told me that the oil injectors are blocked off and that i need to run the car with 2 cycle oil mixed with gas ( like a weedeater) and that it was common with rx7 owners. so my question is this what is the point of this and what does it do? and can i remove the plates so i can run regular gas again?

Blocked off? Make sure the OMP is on there, functioning, and the oil injectors are hooked up correctly before you go running it on regular gas.
If that stuff isn't working the motor won't last long without premix.

to answer the question of why you premix. Its better period. When the car sits at idle with the omp theres not enough oil preasure to push to the injectors. The only time the omp system is effect is at half or full throttle, when the oil preassure is up.When you premix you are getting a constant oil flow to the apex seals and rotor housings wich is odviousely better.

As for whether premix is better or not, that's another thread for another day and has been rehashed 10,000 times before.
To the original poster, you need to download a copy of the Factory Service Manual. You can find the links in the FAQ. Head over to the lubrication section and use it to find out how much your system has been hacked. If you want to avoid the hassle of premix and return the system to stock, then these parts are commonly available used.
This thread is going to become more and more common as hacked 2nd gens start to change hands more often...
