Oh no...

So I decide to take the car out now that I think I can finally get it to drive. I go down the road and turn around, coming back up it starts smoking pretty bad out of the hood and exhaust(oil burning). I get it back to the driveway and pop the hood. My buddy says get the fire extinguisher. I spray the little flame that was from the oil catching fire on the turbo and the fire is out. I then realize there is oil all over my engine bay, on the turbo side. How many oil lines run into the turbo and where do they go, it looks like there is oil all over the middle part of the turbo so maybe that is where the leak is? Either way, something is fucked up real good right now and I can't quite figure it out. There is a giant puddle of oil under my car where I stopped in the driveway, like lots of oil. I'll take some pics of the carnage to give anybody a better idea.

there should be 2 lines, a feed and return. the feed should be directly on top of the center section of the turbo. is it a s4 or s5? i wonder what would cause a line to come off like that... if it turns out the lines are both ok, maybe you lost the seal on the turbo? still...

Two oil lines going two and fro from the turbo. The one on top is the feed and the one below is the return(to the block). Check them, If I had to guess I would say it's coming from the bottom one..it could've burst maybe??????? The one on the top is a solid metal line...but it could be fragile too. In fact I broke mine trying to remove it from the rats nest vacuum rack. I had to replace it with a custom AN one(which looks very schweet btw).

My turbo line leaked and it didn't cause that much trouble in a short amount of time. Check your oil injector lines and oil cooler lines as well. When mine broke (oil cooler line) the engine bay was covered!

Well, from looking under the car, it looks like it is definitely coming from the turbo. And see as this is new(used but new to the car) and I have had it off a couple times to deal with the LIM, I'm pretty sure its this turbo/line going to the turbo. I'll post the pics in a minute.

I would probably say it's a seal on the turbo, but it could be the lines, just take off the lines, and RTV them nice and good, and try to start it up again... (after you clean up all the oil )

uploading the other pics now, could a bad seal in the turbo or a bad seal to one of the oil lines be causing a vac leak? Or maybe the turbo itself isn't bolted together very well?

Anybody have any bright ideas on how to get rid of the powder from the fire extinguisher? Does it just rinse off with water?

looks like a line broke and the oil hit your radiator fan and went everywhere... same thing happened when my friends oil cooler lines burst, but it was on the opposite side.

and it washes off fine with water.

Either that or I did a **** poor job of connecting something. I'm going to go with the latter and consider this one operator error.

[QUOTE=mr0pistons]First four pics

Sorry to ask a dumb question as I can see you are in trouble, but where did you get that AFM/MAF? I have seen it on several 7's but I haven't seen any posts specifying. I do know that there is a prelude (ebay) kit out there, is it off of a prelude? Best of luck with the oil problem, I can see it looks pretty bad (probably looks worse than it is...)

I guess its obvious I have an S4

As I can see by the connector it probably is not interchangeable. Guess I'll stick with my humongo AFM....

It was on the car when I bought it. Well it was fun cleaning that mess up. The driveway was the worst part. The degreaser made short work of the fresh oil in the engine bay. Tomorrow I'm gonna pull the turbo...again...and see if I can't figure out what happened. Can I buy a rebuild kit or something from the local parts store?
