Oh Boy, car wants to die...

Let's see, where should I start? Car started on fire the other day, not much damage. I just have no heat for the winter. Car has weird buzzing coming out of dash again. Dissapeared before, but now it's back. What else... Car sure likes to die for warm start. Anyways. I recently(2 or 3 days ago) had an electrical fire in my car. Just a little one. Nothing burned but some wire which is ironically still pretty bad since I'll have to drag my a** to the mechanic with all 5 bucks an hour canadian that I make an hour. So my question is, my heater is now either off or on full blast. I can't set the fan speed anymore. Is this a result or a cause of the electrical fire that I had? There is probably no answer to this since you'd probably have to check it out to see, but I hope that maybe some of you have had experiences like mine. By the way, it's an 88 t.

sounds like your logicon died, which can smell badly like an electrical fire. you should be able to replace it for about $50 or so used. This is a common part to go bad. Mine has done this once.

Good luck

Where is the logicon located? The firedepartment actually sent out a couple guys to check out my car. They said it was a wire from an aftermarket accessory. I think they also found a yellow peice of wire on my floor mats. I have no idea what is going on but my car has been acting really strange lately. My Idle sucks when I warm start but then it's good after a little bit of a warm up. My atilock comes on now and then, but I have't checked my brake fluid level although I added some about a month ago. Maybe it's winter messing with my car. For some strange reason I still like my car even though the problems are occuring. I know I'm going to need a rebuild soon (166,xxx kms) but I'm willing to go through the pain to keep the car. Sigh... Better start saving up...

geez... why do some RX-7s have such a death wish? honestly, I've not heard of many other cars that have such wierd problems (and many of the 7 problems I've heard of people having are NOT engine related)

It sounds like this car wants to be a project car/parts cannibal.

That's for the help everyone. I'm getting my car checked out by the end of this week, hopefully it won't snow.
