Oh 7... ( oil pressure guage fail after burpin engine)

Hello so title says it all. I replaced my heater hose.

I was turning on my car to drain any air bubbles when i noticed the oil pressure was at zero.

In the process I must have disconnected the oil pressure sensor.

When I checked, I did disconnect it, so I reconnected it. But it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Double check to make sure you connected the correct wire/connector? I don't know how much experience you have with these cars, but the coolant temp sender is in the vicinity, and you could have the two mixed up... maybe a picture of the current situation would help?

If you took the plug off of the Oil Sender and grounded the single wire in the plug and then turned the key to on, the needle in the oil gauge should climb to the top. Once you verify that the gauge is okay then quickly unground the wire to prevent damage to the gauge.

Don't ground it, connect it through a low value resistor (10 ohm).

The connector on that wire is a bit weird and often gets covered in crud. Probably a good cleaning with some contact cleaner on both the connector and sender will fix the problem. You may have to bend the contact tab a little on the connector if it has flattened.

aaron cake for the win!
i disconnected it and gave it a GOOD cleaning. (still didnt work when i half assed it)
also, the contact was pushed a bit back so i bent it closer to the pin on the oil sensor.
Fired it up and i worked!
Thanks!
