Question...I think Icemark might have been the person, but I could be wrong...but someone on here said that there is a specific brand of fuel additive that works very well for cleaning the injectors. I forgot what brand it was though. Anyone know?

This is called Motorvac. I have had this done and it worked quite well. The process removes carbon from the engine and cleans the fuel system. I have also had the injectors sent to the cleaned and flowed on my newer FC. One was sticking when I got it back but unstuck itself after a few minutes. Both cars definately ran better and idled smoother after each process.

well I didn't mean the bottle ones...I'm talking about taking it to a shop and geting a motorvac system done on it.

 

Just pull the Injectors and get em professionally cleaned, BECAUSE as well as cleaning I can guarantee the grommets, O rings and pintle caps are in poor shape. One of my grommets had malformed from heat and the others were rock hard (they are suposed to be rubber like). Not to mention dont forget the "diffusers" just under the injectors in the block (pull out easily with a bent strong wire) They were in as bad a condition as anything I had seen. The holes were all completely gummed up. I dont know what they are really called but I call em diffusers. (they look like little strainers?).


Did I mention my fuel economy has gone way up as well after this? I am getting at least 50 more miles per tank, and when the secondaries kick in it is like a NOS injection now!

 

I need to get mine cleaned... I just don't have the time to be without the car for now (since my other car won't do highway without overheating and it's not worth fixing).

How long does cruzinperformance usually take to get injectors returned?

How many injectors are there in a 88 vert NA I found where they sell them for $35 each just need to know how many I need.

 

there are 4 injectors but they are not all the same size. You need primaries and secondaries and unfortunately I don't know the size of the stock injectors.

 

I believe they're all 460's. Lemme go look...

 

I took apart my car to get those injectors out to be cleaned for the first time ever. What a PITA. I got the results back and it turns out they were in perfect shape. That do suck. Lets see if I remember how it goes back together.
