Offset for 17x7 rims?

What offset would i need to run 17x7 rims. I know they are a little skinny... But its a hell of a deal, so ill deal with it for now. And also...

Anyone want to buy my FD rims with H&R hubcentric spacers? $650 excellant condition.

Run them like stock turbo rims, +40mm offset max.&nbsp You can run them a little more shallow, so from 40-35 is fine.

i have the +40mm offset on my 17x7's...

i have 215's all around. even with 215's up front they are pretty close. you might squeeze 225's up front with that offset...but it will be tight...

It really depends on what size tire you're going to run, but there is no way a 225/45/17 on a 17"x7" rims will tuck under the wheel well with +30mm offset...

RETed is right on all counts - stay within +35mm to +40mm

Erik, your +40 rims seem to fit really nice. I think i will go with that. Do you think a 245/45/17 tire will fit on that rim in the back? I have access to some nitto 555s for real cheap, will they make the squeeze?

yeah, i think even with that offset the 245's will still fit fine in the rear. up front i have about a .5 inch between the sidewall and the spring. in the rear there's quite a bit more room

gregg oshima (infini, supercharged 91 FC) gave me advice when i was getting rims back in the day. i'm pretty sure he also had the 40mm offset all around and had 245's in the rear. i have his site bookmarked but i'm at my gf's...i'll send it to ya if you want tomorrow...

Well according to my math, a +37 - +40 on an 8" width fits great on the FC with a 225/45. The lower might need slight rolling.

So now if you go to a 7" width the difference is one inch, that's half an inch on either side of the wheel. Half inch is equal to about 12mm. Therefore you should be able to subtract that number from the latter, say +38 cause I know it works, and that will give you a +26 offset. That will keep the outside of the wheel in the same position as the 8" er. The only difference is the bulge in the tire which might increase the amount of positive offset needed, therefore I gave it about 4mm of room and arrived at the +30 conclusion as the fitment to do the widest tire up front. This +30mm offset will retain optical symmetry from the front to the rear.

Problem with the skinny knockoffs is that the rear wheel will sit inside the fender like 2" or something. Looks funny to me personally.

But, the +35 should be a real good fitment, as +30 is rare.

Now for running the 245 on a 7" width with a 45 series profile, I would say a definite no. If you're looking to do that, you should run an 8" in the rear.

I am looking at some Rota Subzero rims.
They are 17x7.5 with +48mm offset, would they fit on the fc nicely?

Planning on running 215-45R17 tires.
Thanks

pd day you probably want a little less offset. Try to get within the numbers posted. With the +48 your tires will be hiding under your fenders, and not look to great. There is most likely another option for you. If you can't get that wheel in a better offset; do yourself a favor and find a different wheel that has the proper fitament.

My wheels are 17"x 8" with +42 offset and 215/45 rubber they are about 3/4" from my front springs but the back has lots of room. I wouldn't get anymore offset than that or they will be too close.

I was able to squeeze 275s in the back on my 17x8" rims with a 30mm offset:

forgive the dirty car... it's been in need of a bath for a while, which it got this weekend
