Official weight of a short block?
Hey guys after talking with some friends I have gotten a few diferent answers on the weight of a 13B short block. I am getting ready to send out a 13B so I need the real weight of it. I would weigh it myself but I don't have a scale that will go over like 200 pounds so I don't think it will read out. This is for an S4 short block.
It will only be the engine from the front cover to the rear iron. No flywheel no pullies no water pump, no im's, nothing just from the front cover to the rear iron. The oil pan will still be on it though.

It's under 200 if it's just a short block. (I can pick one up off the floor and move it unassisted, so it can't be too heavy)
Something like 170-180 (depends on what year irons, rotors, etc)

About 190lbs with no acc's, manifolds, oil pan, flywheel, frontcover or anything under the front cover, that included the pallet
was an 87 Turbo if it matters

My god, how many times can this be asked and answered. Santiago, you should know better.
Shortblocks - 185-190 depending on year and model. No oil pan, flywheel, WPH/WP, etc. Note that most rebuilds come with nothing but the block, and mazda remans come with the oil pan, flywheel, and water pump/housing installed.

Yeah I know but its hard to tell who is telling youreliable info. For instance I would trust your word Kevin but some guy I have never met I don't think I would or someone I know to be a liar or not experienced with these things. Thanks though I appreciate the time for your responses. Plus the search gave me that proxy error so it pissed me off about searching. >:O
