Thumbs up The official TID thread!!!

Ok I'm in the process of making a new TID to clear my FMIC piping, and to get it behind the headlight in a cold airbox... What have you guys done in the way of custom TID's for your cars??? This particularly applies for guys running the stock AFM in conjunction with aftermarket intercooler setups ie; FMIC, SMIC, VMIC, HMIC, etc, but anyone is welcome to post their unique ideas and experiences...

Let's see what you guys have done! Maybe if there's enough good ideas and photos, this could be archived for would-be DIY TID builders!

^ I think you should check the condition of your pressure cap or check the level of your coolant.

Your pressure cap has failed or you don't have your overflow hooked up correctly

Really I've never seen it affect anything once the car is running... I know a few people who's hose looks that way, and they've never really had any problems with it... I always told them it seemed like something was wrong, but they experienced no issues...

it won't be an issue until you pop a hose or suck in a water seal.

The kink in my hose has always been a mystery and perhaps the pressure cap is bad, but my overflow tank works just fine and I haven't had a problem with the car in 4 years. Guess I have had good luck. I mean I the only issue I have ever had was with my ride is that I had to replace the passenger headlight motor once. I think I will be selling the car this coming summer. I'll keep everyone posted.

What sizing does the piping have to be if I have a stock S5 turbo? Does the piping need any nipplesfor vacume hoses or anything? Will doing this make the boost go up(boost creep)?

If you are utilizing the stock intercooler and want to replace the turbo inlet hose with a custom fabricated one you would have to some how attach the air bypass valve and check valve to the new hose. If anyone has a better idea or pics i would be interested to see it.

I have an HKS that vents to atmosphere. So what size is the piping?

I cannot remember the actual temps. I am currently re-working the car, so that I may place it up for sale this summer.
