The ''official'' Rate your FC thread! Everyone's invited!

So, I see many many posts about problems and conditions of all members, but I was wondering what condition is your FC in? Taking everything into consideration (rust, problem, parts that needs to be changed and so on....) and putting mileage (because imo, it means nothing when it comes to 20 year old cars ) and mods aside, on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you give to your FC? In all honesty please.

I just thought it would be fun to know the general condition of FCs out there.

1/10 - Rust bucket, puffs white/blue/black smoke and barely runs from A to B
10/10 - No rust what so ever - nothing broken - Like new - Showroom condition

Be honest people!

Have fun!

Well, I forgot to rate mine.

I'd say 9/10. No rust, engine is like new and everything else too. Just that I'm missing the 2 black door vents still and I need to change my rear brake pads and the BAC valve, which are already ordered. A molding inside the car is cracked...anbd I cant find black seatbelts...I'm still stuck with the burgundy **** color ones and everything else in the car is black....

**** color...hahahaaaa. If you're looking for manual seat belts in black, if I remember correctly, the only ones made that way were installed in 10AE models, which you likely won't find in salvage yards. Good luck with that.

I rated my n/a 7 of 10. No rust, engine runs perfect, zero smoke, driver's fender has issues, some key scratches, I finished the interior which looks new. Sunroof needs a gentle push to tilt up. $850 ebay car, can't complain.

7/11, OH THANK HEAVEN

ok no more random plugs. 7/10. Mine has virtually no rust aside from the gouged driver's side (which was hit for a second time last week, but THIS TIME I'll get $1100 cash for damages, frickin' awesome), but has low compression and the tranny and diff have been abused somewhat. Only has 86,000 miles!! Still drives like a dream compared to anything else I've driven. It should be a solid 8/10 by the end of the winter when I have some issues figured out and the dents repaired.

Honestly, I've been told mine's one of the cleaner base models that people have ever seen... The paint is still pretty good, & I work to keep it that way. The engine runs hard, almost every thing works...

My biggest issue w/ my RX is, the carpet is toast, the upholstry is faded & beginning to tear. Some of the trim panels have broken tabs, so they dont fit as snug as they once did...

All things that are repairable...

And, then there's the other thing... Its an S4 Base Model w/ an Automatic Tranny.

I gave mine an 8/10. The body is straight with no rust, the interior is in great condition, the only problems at the moment are it needs a new clutch, and could use a paint job/buff.

I say mines a 9/10. I would have said 10/10 BUT things have gotten messed up on it over the past few years and I'm back to fixing all the imperfections now. I have a small amount of hail damage that needs to be fixed and the carpet (even though its new) has some grease stains and a burn hole from a few shops the car was at. Other than that the car is 100% new from the ground up. All that's left for her is a sweat tune on the Microtech and she'll be good to go!!!

Sorry if you guys have already seen this one before but its the only pic I have of her on my work computer. She now has a carbon fiber hood and 19" gold rims running 285s in the rear!!!! Gota love a good set of meats!!!!

OK here it goes...

86 Coupe n/a
4/10
dislikes: Tires are the wrong size (they are to small), needs to be lowered and the suspension done in general, needs a new pass door and new pass fender (and repainted), I dont like the rims anymore I need to rims, I want to swap out my seats, I would like to remove the red interior for black, I would like a respectable front lip and side skirts.

Likes: The overall aspect of the car is comming together the way I like it, the car has 80K on it and runs like a champ.

89 Vert n/a
5/10
dislikes: bad auto trans (just got a new one today), has 2 minor door dings that need to be fixed, the convertible top section (not targa) needs to be redone, the engine is worn out (my guess), the seats are roached.

Likes: the overall interior is in good shape(minus seats), the bbs wheels are very clean, the s5 tails are immaculate, the overall bosy is in good shape

Ehh probably 7/10. The car is stock on the outside, and has a dent on the drivers rear quarter right before the end of the car.
Interior is in great shape, but lacks a radio atm.
Motor is built and very, very strong, and the car is pretty mechanically sound...
1988 Turbo II

My old car (88 GTU) was a 8/10 before it got wrecked It was insanely clean and ran Great.

I said 9/10. Since its a canadian car, its almost impossible to be rust free, but my fc just has a bit of rust on the rear fenders. The underbody is alright, a bit of rust here and there, but thats normal for a 21 year old car! My car looks better than cars half its age. It runs pretty well and has been very reliable.

I gave my car 8/10. Everything works except for A/C, including chimes, logicon, interior lights, CPU. Sunroof sticks, some clutch chatter, and small exhaust leak. Even the radio is stock, S5 lights S4 Turbo mirrors, conv. wheels (if you see the caps on - I'm nearby and ready to kick ***). If you see me around, holler, I love talking **** about '7's and want to know more about turbo stuff for someday! My car "Rexy" is on the right (it's funny 'cuz here's another member with the same name for his car).

Oh, and regarding OP's comments. This list is a great resource and people are here 'cuz we love these cars, want to know more about them and have them working as best as possible, so given the age of them, there are bound to be problems. As a whole, I think these cars are better than average as far as reliability. People don't post "I have no problems", but you do see a lot of happy people enjoying their cars.

That's not a 9, rust makes it no more than a 5.
