ok. i added penzoil 10w-40 to my full tank on my 88 gxl and now it has a better idle, no afterburn and i could swear more power (not sure, just butt dyno)
but the idle im sure of, used to bounce from 300-1k and try to stall sometimes. now almost rock solid at 800. and my after burn is gone, no more popping from the exaust at all. so wtf? is my omp going out? is that why or is there a deeper meaning?

Pre-mix lowers the octane, so it could be that you were using too high of an octane before.

But 10W40 is not pre-mix. Using that will clog injectors, and lead to all kinds of other problems.

long live premix!!!

could be that your OMP has seen it's last days or the injectors are not functioning correctly or the vacuum lines are faulty and need to replaced

10w-40... Ewwww...

That stuff isn't meant to burn. Get real 2 stroke oil!

Your just adding more carbon to the combustion cycle.

does that mean i should use a higher octane fuel if i premix?
i have a stock t2, except for a RB catback (and run 87 octane)
