Arrow Occasionally overrevving a rebuild: how bad?

Hey guys i have close to 400 miles on my rebuild now and I am strictly abiding by the 4k rule but I am also new to driving a manual transmition and I occasionally miss 3rd gear and over rev, a few times up to 6k for a second or so. How much damage can this do to my motor?

I purposely locked my 6pi's closed so that it would sputter after 4k ish just incase but im still worried.

I think (I think is a key word here) the 4k limit is for those ideots who fail to let thier engine break in. If it hits 6k for a few seconds or so I would not think it would do too much damage. I would avoid diong so. I would avoid it and I think your 6pi trick is a good Idea since it would be a bad Idea to use that for some time.

Revving beyond 4k on a breakin doesn't do any damage at all. Hell just beating the **** out of it fresh off a rebuild won't magically make it explode. However, it doesn't let the seals seat properly, and it causes excessive blow-by and various other similar things.

SO the whole waiting for 2k thing is just to allow ample time for the seals to set ect. WEll imma wait anyway.

Oh and sonic, check your pm's if you have a chance.
