on the exhaust manifold by the flange where the downpipe bolts to the manifold, and it is not hard to replace especially if u coat it down with pb blast for a bit then use a oxygen sensor socket

It's located on the exaust manifold and it can be tricky to remove sometimes. You have to buy a special wrench for removing a O2 sensor and the threads like to seize after time. A good quality penetration oil is a must.

It's 22mm I believe, you can pick one up at your local autozone. There is only one wire because the O2 sensor only gives a signal to the ecu, power does not flow through it.

Edit: Heh, I just realized that everybody in this thread is from michigan.....

As you can see, the socket has a cutout for the wire and the body of the sensor. It still provides maximum surface area on the hex head of the sensor to prevent rounding off the bolt. (like if you tried to use a open end wrench)

As I said in my previous post, you can get one at autozone. Or any other auto part supplier for that matter.

Hope this helps....

The sensor works by generating a voltage proportional to the oxygen content in the exhaust. It grounds through the sensor body, and the signal is sent to the ECU through the single shielded wire.

You can get a generic 1 wire sensor at most auto parts stores for $25 or so.

IME universal oxygen sensors are junk, remember just cause u can wire them up does not mean it wil put out the same readings as a direct fit one. there is a reason why all cars have a different part number for their oxygen sensor

while we are on the subject, what are the benifits of a wideband A/F meter? besides seeing the actual numbers. and how is wiring one up differ from a standard A/F gauge?

that is the benifits a wideband is for tuning purpose only it does not make the car run better it is just a advanced oxygen sensor so the gauge can read it thats it nothing for the computer

however a wideband is a GREAT item to have on yoru car if u plan to do tuning or upgrading to your car.
