my o ring for my omp is failing . its fine under normal condition but after a spirited drive it tends to leak a little bit. runs down the front of the block and down the oil pan. can i get what i need at a napa or something ?? I got this omp from a member of the board and it works great only it leaks. i never changed the o- ring(slaps forehead). but now i have time i could change it no problem . so does anyone know??

well....the brass rings are pretty much the same...... i went to "true value" hardware to get my brass rings, and they work great.... mazda wanted like $5 each..... true value wanted 15 cents each.... i also got some for my oil cooler lines..... no problems at all.... so, dont waste your $$$$ on o.e

The actual o-ring is kind of funky shaped, not really an "O", but I'd bet if you took the "sample" one into a good hardware store they could hook you up. RTV will work, as well, depending on where the leak is coming from, just make sure the surfaces are very clean before application...

^Yeah, that's a formed o-ring. It's oblong.

I just got a new one for a few bucks. I'm sure you could find an o-ring that's the same size, then all you'd have to do is figure out how to keep it in the groove upon assembly.
