Numbers talk...
I was planning to buy an engine saturday night and took the compression and the results were bad ... 60 psi on one face of the first rotor and 0 on the two other face, and 110psi on the rear rotor. What guys do you think of these numbers? Everybody thinks these numbers are bad and one guy say they're good and he also said they were caused by a bad pulsation damper. Personnaly I don't believe him, do you?
And my actual engine is dead so I need to rebuild it or to swap in a TII engine. What would you do?

Anyway, that engine is blown. Those numbers are classic of a blown apex seal. Even if it isn't blown seal, those are VERY bad numbers on the front rotor. Don't touch it with a 20 foot pole.

My goals are 200hp for spring 2008 and maybe going with bigger numbers later...
And no the guy is not trying to sell me the engine, he's a friend of the guy who sold the car to the car who want to sell me the engine.

yeah, unless you're getting it for dirt cheap then I would keep looking.
If you're serious about going for more power later than I'd suggest a TII swap. Easier to make more power than an NA. Are you ready for a full swap? are you going to try to source a donor car? going to buy the swap piece by piece?

well what is he going to charge you. I've got a guy that sells complete swaps and is willing to ship. The only way that motor will be worth it is if you're getting an awesome deal on it, but your gonna need to rebuild it. Even if there is enough compression where it isn't blown, your still going to wanna rebuild with numbers like that. Check what the housings look like and let me know what kinda numbers pricewise your looking at

He's asking 2500$ obo... a bit too much for a blown engine. I tried it and my car is faster when there's no boost. And the funny thing is that the ex-owner of the car said ''I trust my engine and I'll be happy if you don't buy it, you only do driveway with your car, stop annoying me''. I translated it from french so it could have some errors but the main idea is here.
If I buy an engine to rebuild it I will pay 300$ for a turbo one, blown as well. But shipping from Florida to Canada would probably cost a lot.
