now no spark on plugs

ok the deal is last week i accidently killed the car after it only running about 30 seconds in 30-40 degree weather... ten hours later i could not start it... flooded of course so i i do the unflood technique and no luck with any of them, so inspecting several things and replacing them.. (spark plugs and wires) i test the plug today by holding the plug on a ground and turning the car but i get no spark, this is with both trailing and leading coils... im about to get a volt meter and test them but im asking is there any way possible that both of them could go out at the same time.. it just seems odd that they both go bad or is something else wrong, i have to get the damn thing running by thursday or im screwed, any help, tips, advice would be greatly appreciated....

thanks in advance
christopher

hold the plug near ground... The tip/electrode about a 1/8 inch away from ground... not on ground.

Honestly, I am having the same damn problem. I get absolutely no spark at all. At first only the trailings were firing, now I am getting nothing.

I am sad to say my car has been like this for about 2 weeks, and it really sucks. No one on the forum can tell me anything, except HAILERS but even he was confused. So basically I got nothing, sounds to me like you are having somewhat of the same problem. If I do figure out a way to get the coils firing again I will let you know.

Currently I am waiting on a used Leading Coil. I doubt that will help anything but its all I can think of at this point. Good Luck.

Common guys.. check the basics....

Do the fuses check out okay???(not just looking at them, get a meter and check them).

Is there 12 volts on the black/yellows at the coils???

Is there a switched signal coming out of the ECU on the Green/yellow at the leading coil, and the blue/yellow and blue/green on the trailing coils???

Do neither of you have the shop manual or even a Haynes???

ok, 12 volts at the leading coil and such.
Good signal from the ECU, good signal from the CAS to the ECU.
And the Leading Coil itself is within the >@ to ! Ohm resistance.

First thing on no spark is to see if there is 12v on the black/yellow wire that is in the little white, two socket connector at the LEAD coil assy. The other wire is not woth looking at. It'll either show nothing or approx 4.5 volts.

Before that you should look at the ENGINE fuse in the crew compartment. Then the EGI COMP and EGI INJ fuses in the engine compartment.

If those are good....its probably flooded up to its ears. Spark should be there though.

There's something MY88 should take a glance at. Go to your boost/pressure sensor. TAke the plug off. Turn the key to ON. Put the meter on the brown/white wire. See if there is approx 4.5volts. If it's not there, there is a ECU big time problem if all the fuses are ok.

By the way, a RX will idle with just the trail OR just the Lead coils working. Proved that yet again on my car this night by accident.

oops, I meant .2 to 1 ohm resistance. Thanks again HAILERS.
