not sure what it was.ned your input

I was driving along came to a light. light turned green and i started to go. i was at about half throttle and turned. no tire chirping or drifting just wanted to take the corner a bit faster. all of a sutton it sounded the car shut off. kind o a back fire but then didnt back fire. It was kind of hard to explain. car drove find after it striaghtened out. didnt shut off just felt like it did. then just to see it if would do it again at wopt i did it and it was fine. any idea what it could ve been?

ita base 87 N/A automatic.

let me guess you going to say the transmission right.
or would it be the rear?

if it was during a good turn, you could have starved the fuel pump if your fuel was low.

fuel starvation is what i was thinking too. hard cornering can run the pump dry if the sock is dirty or mishshaped or the tank bowl is warped, a few other variables also.

it is close to the E mark.
is that a sign of dirty fiel filter or could that show the fuel pump is starting to die?

If it is not doing on straight line acceleration and less so on right hand turns, low fuel. Fill it up and try to reproduce the bog. If you can't, you probably have your answer.

Mine was doing it.

Replaced the fuel pickup screen (sock) and fixed it. Never had the problem again.
