not the normal idle issue. (for the most part)

Ok the car starts and dies, starts and dies. If i hold my foot on the gas for a few seconds it idles fine. But the idle wont drop unless i manually pull the gas pedal up a little bit. Any ideas on how to fix. Ive adjusted the throttle cable a 100x. ive even sprayed pb blaster on the spring for the throttle body thinking it may be sticking a bit. i do have removed emmisions but did NOT do the throttle body mod so i know its not that. I think its a mechanical deal with the cable or maybe something got damaged in the throttle body while the motor was out. Any help of guidance on the adjusting the throttle cable would be great. maybe im doing something wrong. Thanks

Try disconnecting the throttle cable completely from the spring then start the car.

Same problem with mine. Car won't stay unless the cable so tight the butterfly plates are slightly open. Mine 7 idles between 1300 to 1700 but is constant and doesn't bounce.

you can try waiting till your engine is warmed up to operating temp (coolant circulating through the system; thermostat opens up) then adjust the flat head screw on the top of your intake manifold (covered by a small plastic gromit, screw may or may not have yellow paint indicating position). Adjust only in +/- half turns and give a few seconds to see how the engine responds to the adjustment. Having removed your emissions equip in theory this is going to allow a higher output flow and thus not changing the input flow to compensate for what you egr should be giving back to the combustion cycle can be adversely effected. Let me know how that works for ya
