Question Not idling

My 88 rx7 use to idle but when put in gear it would die. Now it will not even idle. It cranks, gets to about 1.5 then dies. If i give it some gas it dies right away. Does anyone have an idea. Thanks Alot.

check your inlet duct the part that goes from your air box to your tb if it has a leak, then fix it, if not check you maf it could be bad.

This happened to me this weekend, all I did was plug the test lights to the ECU plug in the engine bay, and read the codes. Turns out it was the thermo-sensor, behind the water neck. I had knocked it loose when I did the FD alternator conversion.

A lot of people say that the 86-88 ECUs are worthless as a troubleshooting tool, I maintain that they are not. I have fixed 2 FCs using the ECU as a starting point.
