Question Not going into gear?!?!?! Some please help!!

My car ran fine all day yesterday. Upon going to work this morning, i was sitting in traffic with the clutch pushed in and it jolted slightly. It was very unusual, but i didnt feel anything was wrong. When i proceeded to shift from 2nd to 3rd, it would not go. Then it got to a point where it will not go in any gear. The clutch feels fine, checked all the fluids they are ok as well. Now when i go to start it while its in gear, it just jumps a little and cuts off. I have no clue what it could be. I just had the clutch replace about 2yrs ago and i do use this car everyday. What could it be?

That sounds very similar to what happenned to mine. Turns out is was the pilot bearing that was seized, I could not shift into any gear with the car running, but could shift through all gears with the car off.

I got help from RETed ,who basically said I needed to block the wheels front and back,so that it could not free roll, start the car, and rev the engine in gear like you are driving, and the bearing would break free.

I did it, and it worked....I would pm RETed, and ask his advice.

just my .02 tho...

could also be a collapsed pressure plate, or air in the line.
