Not Another exhaust question thread!

hey guys,

ok many of you will think the same as the thread title explains.
since we have the fcu**ng "TUEV" in germany, we have to enter all modifications into the car-documents. i was going to buy a racing beat cat-back system, and i would have no problems with the police and entering the system in my car-documents, because its looking mostly decent and is not as loud as other aftermarket sets. so why not buying a cat-back from racing beat??
i ordered one.. and got a message that i have to wait 8weeks until they get some in stock again, and then waiting another 4 weeks for shipment to my house
but i can't wait almost 3 months!
so i thought about an alternative cat-back system. the apex'i N1 and GT are really nice.. but for sure really loud and i would get problems with the police i think

do you have any idea what to do now? since i cant get a R-B cat-back system?
the system can be louder than stock, but not too loud! mayb i can go with the apexi dual n1? heard they should be a lot quiter then onesided..

i would appreciate if you could give me some information about alternatives (best would be with dB at idle and under boost! that would be awesome, so i could ask someone here weather i can install such a loud system or not.

im sorry for the bad english, im trying to learn it better

My only suggestion would be to look in the for sale section, I doubt you will find a seller willing to sell to Germany though.

If you really cant wait, I would gut my cats while waiting for the RB exhaust. The gutted cats will hold you over until it arrives, you might even end up just sticking with the gutted cats. Thats what I did at least. It takes about 2 hours, makes the exhaust sound way way way deeper (not raspy), and if you're lucky like me your 7 will even shot flames on every shift

Good luck with what ever you decide. There are a couple hundred threads about gutting your cats so that should be easy to find a write up on.

If you have a turbo or anything the exhaust will be bearable except for the SSAC/CS types. But if it's just a cat-back you should be fine with nearly anything !

gutting the cats is not posible.. i have to go threw strict and radiculous emissions here and a new cat ist very expensive..

pls give me some cat-back names, which are worth of thinking to buy!

Wow, RacingBeat has never had that kind of delay when I have ordered from them(twice). You may want to check Rx7store.net they carry the RacingBeat exhausts and they may have them in stock. Good luck!

Try searching on the forum for the HKS 50mm thread.

I "hear" the RP racing cat-back is stock like. I have the Borla and there is a noticable change ovear stock, it's pretty mild.

i get a fine and some "points" if i reach 14points, they will take my driver license away and i have to wait 3 years i think, and then i can do a new one again.

i think i would get 3 points for an exhaust.

wow, i ordered the cat-back from mazdatrix.. today i thought about it, and let a friend in Wisconsin call racing-beat to get knowledge about the availebelity, it was already closed.. he trys again tomorrow, if the have some in stock, i will sure order a system

Did you try Rx7store.net? They carry Racingbeat exhausts.
