When i start it up there is some lite smoke when it comes out of the exhaust. then it stops after 30seconds. I know its probably nothing to worry about, but i just want to make sure its normal. Thanks

 

My car smokes till it's hot when it is 20-30 degrees F outside. A bit after that too (when it is hot)

But after some driving the smoke disappears. Might be some condensation in your exhaust.

 

every rotary will smoke a bit on start up. it just might not be noticeable till it gets cold out.

 

^ No, not every rotary will smoke on start up. At higher mileage, the oil control rings begin to allow seepage, which leads to some smoking. My 179k mile NA engine would smoke a little sometimes, but those with much less mileage never have.

Or it can be condensation vaporizing, which will happen with a brand new car off the showroom floor.

 

Don't worry about it unless you're losing a noticeable amount of oil or coolant.

i was concerned about my FC puffing smoke out in the morning too,
Ive read and learned that its normal, unless it puffs out constantly like seafoam.

 

if coolant is being lost a little bit, would that be the water jacket seals on their way out? I have smoke until its hot too on an na with 142k miles. when I drive it everyday in the summer, I have to add coolant every 2 months or so. is that a normal thing?
