Is this normal?

I was driving yesterday('88 Turbo 108,000) and noticed that when I like hit boost, the oil pressure goes to 60 pounds. I know that is normal. But then when I came to a stoplight, it dropped below 30... probably around 15. Now is that normal. Everything else seems to be fine, though I have been leaking some oil. I just want to make sure everything is fine. I'm going to fix the leak really soon though.

Thanks,
Jordan

15 is a little low, but is probably either related to oil quailty and or weight, or the type and condition of oil filter you are using. It is within spec however.

I'd probably also double check that the oil cooler is getting warm when the engine is warm. if the thermo-valve in the oil cooler is stuck closed, it could also result in low oil pressure only at idle.

Hey, thanks a lot guys. I knwo that's what the FSM says, but I just wasn't sure about the 15 at idle part. I will try and take a look at the oil cooler.
