nooo wont start
I have an 87 NA.
Its my daily driver and it has never given me any problems.
Short trips, 20 below temps never stopped it from starting.
Started everytime without any problems.
I drove it 2 days ago, left it in my garage.
And then I go and try to start it this morning and it won't start.
It cranks but just won't fire up.
I tried pulling the egi fuse and cranking it for a bit to try de-flooding.
But that didn't work.
I'm praying that the motors not gone and has low compression or anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks

first make sure you have a good charge on the battery,
when pulling the egi fuse ((((make sure the gas pedal is pressed to the floor)))),
then try cranking,
if it starts, it wont run for long, this just defloods it.
replace egi fuse and and crank without touching the gas.
you should be rolling soon if this is the case.

well i would not go that far and say you blow your motor but i would check spark and make sure u have fuel. well u can do both check spark and compression be just removing a spark plug and just do a normal spark check and also have a your hand near the plug opening to see if you can feel it blow out.

do a full de-flooding...
pull the spark plugs....
light the plugs on FIRE...
then pull the EGI comp and inj fuse
crank for 15 seconds...
wait 30
and crank again...
if lots of fuel shoots out the second time do it again...
put everything back in and boom should start...
if it starts DO NOT LET IT STOP!
also make sure the whole time you have it on a battery charger and its on boost...

I found a better solution is to unplug the fuel pump relay under the steering column. This way you get spark but no fuel & the engine will crank when the fuel to air mixture is correct rather than just deflooding then trying again. The difference being if you had a stuck or dirty injector when you put the EGI fuse back in the motor will just flood again. If there is no fuel pressure you can't flood the motor & the OMP will put some oil in to aid in boosting compression that was lost due to fuel washing out the lubricants.

i did some reading around the forums.
and i got the car to start.
I'm guessing that my car finally got "carbon locked" over time.
Either that or it was just really badly flooded.
Because when i went to try and start my car it sounded like the starter was free spinning, as if i had no compression.
I then did a compression test and the tester showed I had no compression, I was SUPER BUMMED and paranoid for that entire day.
Anyway, My car is an automatic, and gas is expensive and I've been really low on cash for the past forever. So those 2 reasons caused me to drive the car like a granny for a long time.
I almost never went over 3000rpms.
Anyway, I did the ATF trick but INSTEAD I used Marvel Mystery Oil, to try and loosen the apex seals up.
After letting it soak and turning it every couple hours for 24 hours, I went back out and started the car.
It started, and was smoking like crazy. I drove around, redlining it a couple times to get the oil outta the system.
And right after that I changed the oil and spark plugs.
I started the car 3 times today, and it seems to be running good again.
Just wanted to share incase anyone else was having the same problem.
Also I plan on doing the water treatment tomorrow or sometime soon, I'm just not sure which hose or hoses I'm suppose to inject the water through.
BTW I have an S4 NA if anyone wants to chime in on that.

If it was Carbon locked the engine wouldn't have rolled over..at all!..you were Flooded my friend..like every other Guy on here. You parked it for Two days, right?.then you may have a Minor Leaky injector problem that only Raises it's head when you don't use the car.The gas washed the spark out,and the Oil too, therefore you lost some Compression..So in Total: Bam!,no Start..You Did a "Run-around" Deflood and it Started....I'm wondering How you checked Compression, and found that the Engine "had none"..But Miraculously With NO compression,The car was Finally able to Start!(haha!)..anyhow,If You are going to do the "water Treatment..Do so at your Own Risk. What it MAY do is Blow the Carbon out of it,but also take the Carbon out that is Sealing the Engine, and you could end up with Lower compression.,anyhow,I am glad you got it started,as a Running rx7 is One less for the Scrap yard!..Good Luck.

The way i did the compression test was,
Hooked up the compression tester to the leading spark plug hole.
unplugged the egi fuse, went inside the car.
Floored the gas pedal, and cranked it for like 8 seconds.
It wasnt exactly NO compression, it was more of bounces of around 10.
And when I didn't have the valve on the compression tester pressed and cranked it, a final number of about 30psi came up.
